Sammelband with works by John Allin, Anthony Anderson, William Prynne, and others (1581-1655)

Sammelband containing the following four ecclesiastical works and “others in the same volume.”

  1. Allin, John. A defence of the answer made unto the nine questions or positions sent from New-England, against the reply thereto by that reverend servant of Christ, Mr. John Ball; entituled, A tryall of the new church-way in New-England and in old (London, 1648) ESTC R8238.
  2. Anderson, Anthony. The shield of our safetie : set foorth by the faythfull preacher of Gods holye worde A. Anderson, vpon Symeons sight, in hys Nunc dimittis (London, 1581) ESTC S100137.
  3. Prynne, William. The Vniversity of Oxfords plea refuted, or, A full answer to a late printed paper, intituled, The priviledges of the Vniversity of Oxford in point of visitation : together with the Vniversities answer to the summons of the visitors (London, 1647) ESTC R5306.
  4. Cotton, John. An abstract of laws and government : wherein as in a mirrour may be seen the wisdome & perfection of the government of Christs kingdome (London, 1655) ESTC R23786.

Unlocated. It is possible that this text belonged to one of Wolfreston’s sons, Stanford or Francis Wolferstan, given their keener interests in matters ecclesiastical.
