Sammelband with works by Peter Heylyn, William Laud, and Anthony Wotton (1626-1637)

Sammelband containing the following four ecclesiastical works.

  1. Heylyn, Peter. Antidotum Lincolniense, or, An answer to a book entituled, The holy table, name, & thing, &c. said to be written long agoe by a minister in Lincolnshire, and printed for the diocese of Lincolne (London, 1637) ESTC S104011 or S104010. Imperfect. From Sotheby’s catalogue: “[W]ants title and end of third part.”
  2. Laud, William. A speech delivered in the Starr-Chamber, on Wednesday, the XIVth of Iune, MDCXXXVII. at the censure, of Iohn Bastwick, Henry Burton, & William Prinn; concerning pretended innovations in the Church (London, 1637) ESTC S123160 or S108350.
  3. Heylyn, Peter. A briefe and moderate answer, to the seditious and scandalous challenges of Henry Burton, late of Friday-Streete; in the two sermons, by him preached on the fifth of November 1636 and in the apologie prefixt before them (London, 1637) ESTC S104014.
  4. Wotton, Anthony. A dangerous plot discovered : by a discourse, wherein is proved, that, Mr: Richard Mountague, in his two bookes, the one, called A new gagg, the other, A iust appeale, laboureth to bring in the faith of Rome, and Arminius, vnder the name and pretence of the doctrine and faith of the Church of England (London, 1626) ESTC S120313.

Unlocated. It is possible that this text belonged to one of Wolfreston’s sons, Stanford or Francis Wolferstan, given their keener interests in matters ecclesiastical.
